The previously garbage-filled plot that women patients had to traverse at Chengalpet Medical College and Hospital is now a fetus-shaped garden. Ma. Subramanian, State Health Minister, stated that the fetus-shaped garden was designed to inform and encourage mothers to bring up healthy babies. He also stressed the need to educate women and their families about the nutritional needs of a child while in the womb and the first two years of life after birth.

Dr. Satya Jeganathan, pediatrician stated that the women coming for pregnancy confirmations, scans, and reviews can stroll in the garden which includes a sitting area, placards, and information boards. The garden has fruit trees and other medically important plants that will encourage women to eat all kinds of healthy fruits and vegetables.
